§ Key Benefits

Six Things That Change When Papers Are Properly Indexed

Families who have been through an indexing engagement consistently describe the same set of changes.

Documents Found in Seconds

A searchable register means any family member can locate a specific document by name, date or type — without going through every box again.

Professional Appointments Go Better

Arriving at a solicitor or administrator with an indexed collection and a clear list of what is held — and what is missing — shortens appointments and reduces the chance of omissions.

Originals Properly Housed

Documents that have been rehoused in archival sleeves deteriorate more slowly. A digital scan exists as a backup regardless of what happens to the original.

Shared Access for Relatives Elsewhere

The Multi-Generation Archive Programme includes a permissioned shared archive. A sibling in Kuala Lumpur can retrieve a document without calling Penang.

Paperwork Vocabulary Demystified

The Terminology Library turns unfamiliar language — distribution orders, letters of administration, public trustee forms — into plain statements of what each document does and what each field asks for.

A Record Built for the Next Generation

An indexed, digitised family collection with a written descriptive note is something that can be read and understood by relatives who were not present when the papers were gathered.

§ In Detail

What Each Benefit Looks Like in Practice

Expertise Built Around Malaysian Records

Succession paperwork in Malaysia has its own vocabulary, its own forms and its own official channels. Our Terminology Library was developed specifically for this context — not adapted from a generic template. The team has direct familiarity with the document types that come up most often in Malaysian household collections.

A Clear and Repeatable Process

Every sorting and indexing engagement follows the same sequence: intake assessment, physical sorting by type and period, archival rehousing, scanning, register compilation and a handover walkthrough. Families know what is happening at each stage and what they will receive at the end.

A Named Contact for the Duration

Every engagement has a named contact who handles all communication with that family. Questions are answered by someone who knows the collection, not passed around. This is particularly important for the Multi-Generation Archive Programme, where continuity over eighteen months matters.

Transparent, Fixed Pricing

All three programmes carry a fixed price stated before work begins. The Terminology Library is RM 475 per year. Personal Papers Sorting is RM 1,650 for up to 1,000 items. The Multi-Generation Archive Programme is RM 4,600. There are no hidden fees for standard scope.

Measurable Outcomes

At the end of a sorting and indexing engagement, the family holds a register listing every item in the collection, with its type, date, storage location and scan reference. That is a concrete deliverable, not a general improvement. For the archive programme, it also includes a written descriptive note and a maintained digital archive.

§ What Sets Us Apart

Distinctive Features

Context Built for Malaysia

Unlike generic document services, Heirlune's reference materials and indexing methodology were built around the specific document types, form names and administrative processes of Malaysian household and succession records.

Long-Horizon Programmes

The Multi-Generation Archive Programme is designed for families thinking in terms of decades, not months. Three maintenance rounds, backup refreshes and a bound close-out file are part of the standard scope.

Administrative Only — Always

We do not give legal advice, and we state this clearly and without qualification. Families know exactly what they are engaging us for and what questions to take elsewhere.

Printable Reference Material

The Terminology Library includes printable explainer sheets that can be brought to appointments or left in a folder with the physical collection — something that exists nowhere else in this format for Malaysian families.
